First Day of Fast 9-17-18

A few facts: I weighed 233.6 pounds today. My blood glucose reading this morning was 293. (Remember, this is after ketosis kicked in and a whole evening and night of fasting. I am clearly insulin resistant.)

I am having some aches and pains, but they are very slight. I went to the gym this morning and got in 30 minutes of aerobic exercise.

It has been a little difficult fasting today because my husband has been home with me. However, he does not overeat anymore and that really helps.

Reminder: I am fasting to remove excess insulin, increase insulin sensitivity, lower and stabilize blood glucose levels, create a different “set point” of weight, and live a longer, healthier life.

I do not want to become dependent upon medication for several reasons: 1) I hate that medications are tested on animals, 2) I hate that my illness, caused by sin skewing the world, benefits some greedy people, 3) I hate being monitored with medication meted out to me by uninformed people who judge me, and 4) it doesn’t work!

Medication does not cure diabetes because it does not remove the overabundance of glucose, which is only a symptom of too much insulin. A particularly bizarre fact is that some medication given to “help” diabetics is insulin, which was the problem in the first place.

I am watching nutrition and diabetes experts on YouTube to encourage myself. You’ll hear from me tomorrow!
